FILLER NECK FAIRING RINGS  To seal the filler necks on my three tanks (header and two LE tanks) I chose to fabricate fairing rings and fit them over each of the filler necks. The material used was 3003-H14 aluminum .020" thick. I used a router (1/4 round bit) and made a form out of a piece of oak. Cut the aluminum and gently shaped it into the oak form using  a small rubber hammer. The fairing rings were made so they would have to be press fit over the filler necks.  Each ring was  then polished and installed with a bead of silicon under each.

WING LOCKER DOOR  The photo on the left is of my wing locker door in flight. You can see a slight bulge from the negative pressure above the wing. I added "L" material to the sides and rear as well as a diagonal piece plus extra dzus fasteners (photo on right). It was my understanding that without some mods to the door, it would bulge excessively in flight.
