Subject: Trip Report From: "Mark Leckner" Date: Tue, 17 Jun 2003 21:10:29 GMT Newsgroups: alt.fan.letterman So that's a Davecon. Wow, as I sit here munching my candy necklace it seems like only yesterday. Took the bus into the Port Authority. Walked up to Rupert's for the mandatory bacon, egg, and cheese, salt, pepper, ketchup and coffee. Lurked about until lunchtime and Helen Read walked right by me and I think I startled her by blurting out "Hi Helen!" She asked if I'd seen the others. I didn't know what the others look like. Renee was there and Cathy so we moved off to the chili place. There I met Traci, bostonbill, Bill Lehecka, Northeast Ohio Bob, Cheryl, Greg, Ann, Finchhen, Marilyn, CyberGolem (whom I'd killfiled a while back), Ken, Rona, Brady, the great one Don who gave me a beer coaster, Chad, Shirlee, Dave Sikula who for a cranky guy was actually quite pleasant, Brad, Rocco, Carl, Gina, Steve, and the musical genius Micah. There was twenty six of us so I'm forgetting one. We left the bar, I mean chili place and got our tickets. We then went to 53rd Street and waited for Hillary to arrive. We ticked off security a little, but we avoided arrest. We went back to the theater, did audience load in, we sat about five rows back in the center. Some of the group were split off to sit in front of the band. Micah, yes Micah the musical genius, got in the pre-show question. After the show we went backstage, the first timers got cue cards. Wahooo! Also I scored a green room cookie, and that is the sweetest of all the cookies. We were filmed by Walter in front of Alan Kalter's spot. I said my name is Alan Page. I was then grabbed by security and tossed into the street. No, just kidding. Tony gave us a first class tour of the Ed Sullivan Theater. Afterwards we went to McGee's for booze, we don't need food we've got an open bar! Unfortunately I had to leave to catch my bus. Next year, I'm staying until dawn. Thank You Renee for all you do, it made a trip to the Late Show the best it could be, thank you Traci for organizing the party. Thank you Tony Mendez for showing us the magic of the business called show. Tony is the most handsome, intelligent, and sexiest man on the internet today. Thanks also to Mike McIntee for showing us the film editing room. That's all from me, I brought a hooker home from Times Square and I want to get her started on mowing the lawn. Mark
