RAPTOR REHABILITATION HOMEPAGE

A Red-Tailed Hawk  (photo by Charlie Kaiser)

From 1992 to 2006, I lived in Groton State Forest, Groton, Vermont and was a volunteer for rescue and transport of injured raptors for the Vermont Raptor Center (VRC) in Quechee, Vermont, which is part of the Vermont Institute of Natural Science (VINS).   I was a member of the National Wildlife Rehabilitators Association and was licensed through VINS by both the State of Vermont and the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Department for my work.  I have since retired. Please visit their sites (links below) for additional information.

I have been part of several Vermont Raptor Center (VRC) studies of post-rehabilitation survivorship and dispersal of Barred Owls possessing unilateral ocular disorders. Click below to see the details on these studies.
