SAP experience
I am a highly skilled SAP consultant, who has been working with SAP since
January 1990. I have both R/2 and R/3 experience. My R/2 experience consists
of RF, RK, RL, RM-MAT and RS. My R/3 experience consists of basis (ABAP,
data dictionary, etc.), FI and SD. I have very strong ABAP skills and have
designed and built some sophisticated applications. I also did some configuration
work. I am a very good technical trouble shooter.
I started out with SAP in the Netherlands, I gave technical support
for the R/2 SAP system at a municipal electricity company and I designed
and built a large number of ABAPs. I solved user problems, sometimes by
just educating them better, sometimes by changing some table entries and
most of the time by writing or adapting an ABAP or even by designing and
implementing self built transactions.
In 1994, I moved to the States, to join the IBM Consulting Group as
a SAP consultant and worked on a big R/3 implementation project at IBM
Microelectronics. I mostly did design, coding and implementing of ABAPs,
usually interfaces, reports or transactions. I helped to kick start the
new ABAP programmers there, by being available to answer their questions
and to give some tips and tricks on ABAP programming. I also did configuration
work, but the bulk of my job was ABAP related.
During 1998, I did a project for Bose in the Netherlands, primarily
having to do with an upgrade from R/3 2.2i to 3.1h. I did most of the ABAP
work around this project. I also designed and implemented some CATT procedures,
to assist in testing the upgraded system. I left Bose to move back to the
States, but still do some occasional telecommuting work for them, out of
my home.
Some projects
-
Designing and implementing diverse interfaces between SAP and legacy systems.
These often involved batch input transactions.
-
Designing and building a system for electronic ordering of warehouse goods.
This set of transactions provides company wide administrative access to
the warehouse stock. It replaced an earlier manual system.
-
Member of a "Dutch SAP users association" project team on release changes.
I was presiding over the sub committee on the technical aspects of release
changes.
-
Investigation in an inconsistency of the SAP databases when a reorganization
was performed with wrong parameters. I identified the cause and recovered
the lost data.
-
Building and modifying various transactions. This includes experience with
the data dictionary, screen painter, self defined data files, self defined
logical data bases and the design and implementation of function modules.
-
Member of the conversion team SAP R/2 4.2 -> 4.3 at the GEB in Rotterdam.
Among other things, I designed the mechanism to ensure correctness of the
converted data.
-
Member of the conversion team SAP R/3 2.2i to 3.1h at Bose in the Netherlands.
