Mission
and Values
The mission of the Vermont
Right To Life Committee is to achieve universal recognition and respect
for the sanctity of human life from conception through natural death. The
Vermont Right To Life Committee, through peaceful, legal means seeks changes
in public opinion, public policy, the law, and individual behavior that
respect each person's right to life, and reject abortion, euthanasia, and
other actions that deny this most basic of all human rights.
History
Founded
in 1973 The Vermont Right To Life Committee is one of 50 state affiliates
of the National Right To Life Committee, located in Washington D.C.. With
over 4500 member households,VRLC is Vermont's oldest and largest state-wide
prolife organization. The Vermont Right To Life Committee maintains an
office in Montpelier, Vermont and works closely with state legislators
there through our Lobbyist, and
Executive
Director. A network of county level chapters throughout Vermont bring
the prolife message to our local communities . Churches, schools, service
organizations, political groups, and fairs are just a few of the venues
we participate in at both the state and local level. The Vermont Right
To Life Committee publishes an informative newspaper six times per year,
hosts a daily radio program, sponsors a yearly educational conference featuring
nationally recognized speakers , publishes the "Life Pages" , a compendium
of prolife businesses, churches, and individuals who support the work of
the VRLC. The "Life Pages" also contains a wealth of prolife information
from the political, legal, legislative, and medical fields all designed
to educate Vermonters about the sanctity of human life and the need to
safeguard this First principle of liberty
