“I’ve been telling stories all my life: to my little sister at home in Wales, my friends, my own children and grandchildren. I tell to anyone who wants to take a little time to put everyday life aside and be transported into another world, another time, another existence through the magic of the spoken word.” (Julia)
Julia has told stories around campfires, in science and art centers, in schools, libraries
and at gatherings in the USA, Britain and Argentina.
More than a thousand years ago the ancient people of Britain took refuge from invaders among the rugged hills of Wales. In this wild and untrammeled terrain they preserved and nurtured their language, traditions and tales throughout the centuries.
Now, weaving webs of enchantment, Julia comes to bring those tales to life, delighting audiences of all ages with captivating tales of her homeland. Hear about princes, fairies, valiant women, a faithful dog, and the greatest Celtic figure of all: the Welsh king Idris, known to the world as Arthur.
Julia’s program includes fascinating insights into the history and customs of her ancestors, and the ancient Welsh language: “Croeso i’r wlad swynion Gymru!” – “Welcome to the enchanted land of Wales!”

The story follows the miraculous life of Columba from the early foretelling of his birth to the legacy he left to the world when he died on the Scottish island of Iona in 597. A dramatic saga designed to enthrall audiences of adults and children over ten; this 45-minute monologue speaks about devotion, war, peace, patriotism, exile, redemption and renewal. "This particular story of Saint Columba came to me from my Irish father and I treasure it for the wisdom it offers us.”
This one-hour program may include the traditional La Llorona from Mexico; the surprising “Dark, Dark Night”; a personal tale of a haunted English island or Abenaki tales from the Lake Champlain area.
Crafted to suit the audience, these stories, some original, some traditional, will delight listeners of all ages and perhaps leave them looking nervously over their shoulders as they walk home!
This program centers on a dramatic re-telling of Hans Christian Andersen’s “The Snow Queen” and a ceremonial lighting of the Tree of Life.
It will entertain people of all ages from five to 100.
"I believe in the healing power of story, and Julia’s gentle approach makes it possible for people to explore their inner life in a safe setting." - Jenny Deupree, Franconia, New Hampshire.

“In our fast-paced world, storytelling can be a nurturing way to remind people that their spoken words are powerful, that listening is important, and that clear communication between people is an art.” (storyarts.org)
