I watched my child play today,

And she made my spirit smile.

In watching her on a toddler swing

I felt young myself, for awhile.

And the notion occurred to me,

That when we also play,

We re-create ourselves,

And make wise use of our days.

For as adults, we sometimes sadly think,

That when we play we waste our time,

But I think that when we dance and sing,
