Mister W., Age 81 has been a resident of Upstate NY for most of his life. His passion for art started at a very young age doing pencil sketches of horses, cowboys, Indians and cartoon characters.

Entering service during WWII, many pencil sketches were done of men in his unit and aboard ship, sketches of merchant marines, New Zealanders and others. Most of this art work was given to the subjects. Only a few are included in this gallery.

Returning to civilian life and back to the old grind of making a living, he attended night school and duties in the National
Guard and raising a family, his art work took a back seat.

After a few years he decided to take some art courses while attending Russell Sage College at night. Then Columbia Greene Community College to take some additional courses in oil painting techniques.

One day he was fortunate in meeting an accomplished artist, John Byron. He had John and his lovely wife to his home on a couple of occasions and learned much from his discussions, well into the early morning hours, of working with acrylics and his lifes work doing paintings from The Trilogy.  Their son has a fine collection of some of these paintings.
